Minority Certification

Vicki Davis Group offers document preparation (State and Local) for those seeking minority- or women-owned business status. MBE or WBE status is utilized for business enterprise claiming to be a woman, minority-owned or veteran-owned business. We handle the entire certification process and paperwork, acting as your company liaison with the third-party certifying agency, and we handle identifying and registering your business with at least two public entities with which you are interested in doing business.

We also help certify businesses for the Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) Program, for Washington D.C. This is a small business inclusion program that helps your business compete for DC government contracts. The District Government directs spending to CBEs, which in turn, supports and contributes to job creation and the city tax base, strengthening the local economy.

Minority-Owned Business Certication
Why MBE/WEB and VOC Certification?

MBE/WBE (Minority Business Enterprise/Women Business Enterprise) and Veteran-Owned Certification are programs designed to promote economic growth and inclusivity for minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses. These certifications provide qualifying businesses with access to exclusive opportunities, resources, and support. They aim to level the playing field in industries where these groups have historically been underrepresented, ultimately fostering a more diverse and equitable business environment. By obtaining MBE/WBE or Veteran-Owned Certification, business owners can enjoy enhanced visibility, increased networking possibilities, and a competitive edge when bidding on contracts.

To obtain MBE/WBE or Veteran-Owned Certification, businesses must meet specific eligibility requirements. For MBE/WBE Certification, the business must be at least 51% owned, controlled, and managed by a woman or a minority individual(s). Minority individuals are defined as those who are part of a socially and economically disadvantaged group, which includes, but is not limited to, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, and Asian Americans. For Veteran-Owned Certification, the business must be at least 51% owned, controlled, and managed by one or more veterans or service-disabled veterans. Additionally, businesses seeking certification must demonstrate sound financial standing, operational capability, and expertise in their respective industries.

Once a business has been certified as an MBE/WBE or Veteran-Owned enterprise, it can access numerous benefits that can enhance its growth and competitiveness. These benefits include, but are not limited to, preferential consideration for government contracts, private sector procurement opportunities, networking events, educational resources, and financial assistance. Many federal, state, and local agencies, as well as private corporations, have established procurement goals to award a certain percentage of their contracts to certified businesses. This commitment to promoting diversity in the marketplace can lead to long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships between certified businesses and the organizations they serve.
